MEGHAN AND HARRY END THEIR EVENTFUL 2020 WITH FIRST PODCAST
LOS ANGELES (AP) – The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have dropped their first podcast. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and guests from Elton John to their son Archie appear on the royal couple’s first audio release Tuesday for Spotify, a 34-minute special released Tuesday with reflections on 2020. The couple who stepped down from their royal duties in spring invited friends and people they admire to record audio diaries that were excerpted for the show. Contributors include tennis player Naomi Osaka and voting-rights advocate Stacey Abrams. One-year-old Archie ends the podcast by wishing listeners a “Happy new year!” with some coaching from his parents.
JOEL McHALE AND KEN JEONG HOST FOX’S “NEW YEAR’S EVE TOAST AND ROAST”
LOS ANGELES (AP) – Joel McHale and Ken Jeong have been friends for 12 years. That’s why they feel comfortable roasting each other on New Year’s Eve. They will host “New Year’s Eve Toast and Roast” on Fox. McHale says they are not presuming to be the new kings of the New Year’s Eve broadcast, the way Dick Clark was for decades. McHale says he’s more like the new Max Headroom and Jeong is the new local TV weatherman. When asked if they expect a lot of attention because of the pandemic lockdown, McHale says, “That’s how we’re billing it: “hey, you’re trapped!” Gloria Estefan and Leann Rimes are featured performers.
