LOS ANGELES (AP) – “Avengers: Endgame” has lost some of its steam. But it still had plenty in the tank to steamroll over the rest of the field – and end up at the top of the box office list again. The Marvel blockbuster took in another $63.1 million during its third weekend in theaters. That brings its overall domestic gross to $723.5 million, breaking the marks set by “Black Panther” and “Avengers: Infinity War.” Internationally, it raked in another $102.3 million. That brings its global total to just shy of $2.5 billion. That makes “Avengers: Endgame” the second biggest worldwide release ever. “Avatar” holds the record with $2.8 billion.
ALYSSA MILANO – SEX STRIKE?
UNDATED (AP) – Alyssa Milano says her call for women to join her in a sex strike is a way to remind people that women still “have control over” their bodies and how they use them. The actress took to Twitter on Friday night call for women to withhold sex as a protest against strict abortion bans passed by Republican-controlled legislatures. The former star of “Charmed” called on women to stop having sex “until we get bodily autonomy back.” The tweet came days after Georgia became the fourth state in the U.S. to ban abortions once a fetal heartbeat is detected. That can be as early as six weeks – before many women know they’re pregnant.
KENAN THOMPSON – NEW SHOW
NEW YORK (AP) – You’ll be seeing lots more of Kenan Thompson next season on NBC. He will be starring in a new comedy – even as he remains a member of the cast of “Saturday Night Live.” NBC says he will be the star of “The Kenan Show,” and serve as executive producer for the sitcom, along with Chris Rock. Thompson will play a dad trying to balance work, family – and a meddling father-in-law. The father in law will be played by Andy Garcia.
“THIS IS US”
NEW YORK (AP) – “This is Staying.” In what should have amounted to a no-brainer, NBC says it is renewing its hit family drama series “This Is Us.” The show will get three more seasons – with the door open for more to follow. “This Is Us” will return in the fall, according to the schedule the network released over the weekend.
CONSTANCE WU – RENEWAL
LOS ANGELES (AP) – Usually, if a star of a TV comedy finds out they show has been renewed for another season – it’s a cause for celebration. Not so much for Constance Wu – and that has irked some of her Twitter followers. Once she got word that “Fresh Off the Boat” was being brought back by ABC, she expressed displeasure. Wu tried to explain her thoughts on Saturday, saying having her show return meant she had to give up another project that she was passionate about. That did little to silence the blowback – with some critics noting that others would have been out of work if she got her way. Wu later put out another tweet acknowledging that her comments “were insensitive” to those still struggling to get their break in the TV industry.

The couple has released a photo of the newborn’s little tootsies to mark Meghan’s first Mother’s Day as a mom. The image was posted on Instagram yesterday. It showed Meghan’s hand cradling the feet of Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, with spring flowers in the background. The caption said it was a tribute to all moms, “present, mothers-to-be, and those lost but forever remembered.”
