AMOREM RN Receives Hospice and Palliative Certification
BOONE—AMOREM registered nurse Courtney Barker, BSN, RN, CHPN, passed the Hospice and Palliative Credentialing Center exam and became Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse.
The CHPN certification is a professional credential designed for nurses who specialize in hospice care and palliative medicine. The Hospice and Palliative Credentialing Center administers the exam that is designed for experienced hospice and palliative nurses.
“I am very proud of Courtney Barker for receiving her HPCC certification,” says Nurse Team Coordinator Rebecca Patterson, RN. “Courtney has been part of the AMOREM team for almost 6 years and has helped so many of our patients during these difficult times. It truly does take a special person to be a hospice nurse. We are very proud to have her on our team as she continues to uphold our mission, vision and values.”
The certification process and exam validate and evaluate an individual’s expertise in a specialty area, such as hospice and palliative medicine. Achieving an HPCC certification shows that Barker has a mastery of knowledge in the field of hospice care and palliative medicine.
HPCC credentials show a clear commitment to safe, ethical and evidence-based care. The certification process allows Barker to sharpen her skills and knowledge, increase her competence and confidence during practice, participate with and learn from colleagues and so much more.
