AMOREM physician earns Hospice and Palliative Medicine Certification

VALDESE- AMOREM physician, Dr. Beck Ballentine, passed the American Board of Internal Medicine 2024 Hospice and Palliative Medicine Certification Examination and is now a board-certified hospice and palliative medicine provider.

This accomplishment demonstrates to patients and their families that Ballentine has the knowledge, skills and attitude essential for excellent patient care. There is a large and growing body of evidence that patients whose doctors demonstrate more medical knowledge through certification have a better prognosis on a host of outcomes.

“We are incredibly grateful for Dr. Ballentine’s commitment to our patients and their families,” says AMOREM CEO April Moore. “Dr. Ballentine’s significant achievement shows their dedication to providing the gold standard of care in hospice and palliative medicine. We are fortunate to have doctors, like Ballentine, who are experts in their specialty and serving at a higher standard. We congratulate Dr. Ballentine on their board certification.”

The American Board of Medical Specialties sets the gold standard for medical certification. The Member Boards certify doctors in 38 specialties and 89 subspecialties, following rigorous standards for training and assessment. Board certification is a significant achievement that not all doctors attain. Board-certified doctors meet a higher standard and are experts in their specialty.

Ballentine’s certification shows that they know the latest advancements in hospice care and palliative medicine and that they desire to practice at the top of their profession. Ballentine has trained beyond what is required of themselves and will work to continually improve the care that they deliver to ensure that AMOREM patients receive the highest quality of care.

“I am grateful to all of the wonderful teachers I have had along the way,” says Ballentine. “I am especially grateful for my patients and their families, the nurses, social workers and the chaplains that I have the privilege to work alongside in hospice care and palliative medicine. I am also incredibly fortunate to have had the support of my partner and family throughout the process of becoming board-certified.”

Ballentine will continue requirements like education, training and examinations to uphold their ABMS certification.
