ACHS Track Results

 

Ashe County hosted the Conference Championships on Wedneday 4/30.

Both the boys and girls teams placed 3rd beating out the other 3a schools in the conference. Watauga placed 1st overall for both men  and women and Alexander Central placed 2nd for both.

 

Here are the personal best performances and notable performances from our athletes. 

 

Personal best:

John David Lea – 100m

Eric Perez-Denza – 100m

Austin Cox – 200m

Tallon Kingsley – 400m and Pole Vault

Will Russell – 400m

Garrett Oller – 800m

Jamie Barker – 800m

Brysen Roten – 3200m

Sawyer Greene – 110m Hurdles placing 1st. Also a PR in the 300m hurdles

Ian Graybeal – Long Jump placing 2nd

 

Emmy Holman – 100m, 200m

Audrey Satterwhite – 800m

Lexi Rollins – Triple Jump

Emily Lewis – 1600m and 3200m

Addison Calloway – Shot Put

 

Notable Performances:

 

The Mens and Womens 4x400m relay teams both placed second. The men’s team was made up of Tray Powers, Kolter Rollins, John David Lea, and Ian Graybeal. The Women’s team was made up of Caroline Parsons, Josie Franca, Abby Bingham, and Gracie Finley.

Sawyer Greene also won the High Jump

Richie Cliff placed third in pole vault

Jude Tilley placed 3rd in discus

the girls 4×800 team placed 2nd. That team was made up of Abby Bingham, Audrey Satterwhite, Emory Taylor, and Josie Franca

Gracie Finley Won the pole vault

Lanie Bowers placed 2nd in discus

Abby Miller placed 3rd in discus.

 

Ashe County will advance several athletes to the 3a West Regional meet hosted by North Iredell on May 10th.

Evie Pyles in the 1600m placing third

Natalie Carpenter in the Shot Put, placing 1st

Chloe Henson in the Shot Put placing 2nd

 

Other Notable performances include:

Dakota Peterman, Abigail Miller, Chloe HEnson, and Natalie Carpenter finishing 1-4 in Discus respectively

Gracie Finley won the 100m

Sawyer Greene won the High Jump as well as both the 110m hurdles and 300m hurdles.

 

Ashe County will host the 3a/4a Northwestern conference championships on Wednesday 4/30. The meet will begin at 1PM at the Ashe County High School Track. All are encouraged to come out and support the Huskies!

 Owen Roten in the 800 meter

Sawyer Greene in the 110 meter hurdles, winning the race. Sawyer also won the High Jump.

Emily Lewis in the 1600m, second behind her teammate

(Ashe County athletes placed 1st, 2nd, and 4th in the 1600 with Evie Pyles taking 4th)

Abby Miller in Discus and Shot Put, winning the discus

(Ashe girls took places 1-4 with Abigail Miller, Lanie Bowers, Natalie Carpenter, and Chloe Henson respectively)

 

Chloe Henson won the Shot put 

(Ashe girls scored 1,2 and 4th in the Shot put with Chloe Henson, Abigail Miller, and Natalie Carpenter respectively.

 

Ashe County Track and Field will be back in action next week with meets at Bunker Hill on Tuesday the 11th and North Stokes on Thursday the 13th. Our meet today (Thursday the 6th) was cancelled due to weather.
