CULLOWHEE, N.C. – App State women’s soccer played to a 2-2 tie against Western Carolina on Tuesday evening at the Catamount Athletics Complex. 

Both of App’s goals came within two minutes of each other in the first half with Ava Dawson (Greenville, N.C./DH Conley) tallying the first score in the 24th minute of the period. 

At 26′, Hulda Ágústsdóttir (Husavick, Iceland/Völsungur) pushed the Mountaineers to a 2-0 advantage. App State took the two-goal lead into the break, while WCU scored both of its goals in the second half. 

Appalachian scored on two of its three shot attempts that were on target and totaled eight shots in the contest. 

Friday will be the final exhibition when App faces ETSU at 1 p.m. at Ted Mackorell Soccer Complex.
