WCC Foundation Hosts Scholarship Gala

 

WCC Foundation Hosts Scholarship Gala

 

Wilkesboro, N.C. – The Wilkes Community College Foundation hosted the Scholarship Gala on Saturday, February 8, 2025, in the Lakey Ballroom at the John A. Walker Community Center. Proceeds from the event netted approximately $25,000, which will support WCC College and Career Promise Scholarships.

 

The evening began with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, allowing guests to mingle and enjoy the atmosphere. Dinner was expertly prepared by Walker Center Chef Ashana Shores, accompanied by music from the live band Too Much Sylvia. The theme for the evening, “Cheers to 60 Years,” allowed us to reflect on the past six decades at WCC. Connie McNeill, chairperson of the special events committee, offered a toast to commemorate the wonderful event and the 60 years we have celebrated together.
